When you are experiencing dental pain, you may not be able to wait to see a dentist.

The health, wellbeing and safety of our patients and their families are our utmost priority and always will be.

During our opening hours, if you feel you have a problem that cannot wait until the next available appointment, please let our Patient Experience team know.

Our Team understands how debilitating pain can be and will ask you for some information on the nature of the problem to enable the Dentists to prioritise you and triage you at the soonest convenience.

The reception team will ask you a reason for this appointment and explain that we operate on a one problem per appointment basis.

Dental Concepts runs emergency appointments in normal hours and out of hours where needed. Please note, our out of hours appointments are only for emergencies that cannot wait until next working day.

Process

How do I know when I have a Dental Emergency?

Emergency Dental Situations

  • Significant toothache preventing sleep, eating, associated with significant swelling, or fever that cannot be managed with painkillers.
  • Facial swelling extending to the eye or neck.
  • Bleeding due to trauma or a tooth extraction
  • Tooth broken and causing pain, or tooth fallen out.

Non-urgent dental situations (may need to wait):

  • Loose or lost crowns, bridges or veneers.
  • Broken, rubbing or loose dentures.
  • Bleeding gums.
  • Broken, lose or lost fillings.
  • Chipped teeth with no pain.
  • Loose orthodontic wires.

When to go straight to A&E:

  • Facial swelling affecting vision or breathing, preventing mouth opening more than 2 fingers width.
  • Trauma causing loss of consciousness, double vision, or vomiting.

If you determine that your condition is not an emergency, you should still make contact with a dentist. We may be able to coordinate a sooner appointment and you could receive treatment much more quickly than you expected

Dr Manish and his team at Dental Concepts have gone the extra mile to help me with my dental problems. All the staff have been friendly and efficient, but Dr Manish in particular, has displayed the quality skills of a surgeon with a kindness of heart that is rarely seen these days. A thorough examination awaits you in an immaculately clean and well presented, state of the art practice. Don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Michelle Moore.

Recently my 62 year old ‘milk tooth’ broke off leaving me with the dread of having the root taken out. Manish was amazing, knowing me from previous treatments, he explained that he would build a new tooth on the remains of my old one. The work was done in an hour, the result was amazing, I couldn’t tell the difference from the one next to it. No pain, no stress and truly wonderful just before Christmas to have my smile back. Manish is an amazing person and outstanding dentist. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Dental Concepts to anyone, especially nervous patients or anxious patients.

Phoned in an emergency after extreme pain and my regular dentist not caring that 4 more days was unmanageable, having rang several others that only seemed concerned about booking me in for a check. To my delight and suprise this was no problem for them. Their only concern was that I was in extreme pain and despite anti biotics and pain killers this had not subsided for 72 hours, I was asked to come in immediately for an x ray and immediate extraction. No one like the dentist but I officially love this team now, I will be recommending it to family, friends and all those who read this review.
