Dental Implants

A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural root and commonly it is screw or cylinder shaped. Each implant is placed into a socket carefully drilled at the precise location of the intended tooth. Often the implant can be placed at the same time as removal of the tooth, all on the same day.
Having a dental implant fused to the jawbone is the closest thing to mimicking a natural tooth because it stands on its own without affecting the nearby teeth and has great stability. Once fitted, Implants provide the foundation for long-term support of crowns, bridges or dentures.
Process
The planning process for dental implants may involve a variety of specialists, including a doctor who specializes in conditions of the mouth, jaw and face (oral and maxillofacial surgeon), a dentist specializing in treating structures that support the teeth, such as gums and bones (periodontist) and a dentist who designs and fits artificial teeth (prosthodontist), depending on the case.
Because dental implants require one or more surgical procedures, you must have a thorough evaluation to prepare for the process, including a:
- Comprehensive dental exam. You may have dental X-rays and 3D images taken, and have models made of your teeth and jaw.
- Review of your medical history. Tell your doctor about any medical conditions and any medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs and supplements. If you have certain heart conditions or orthopedic implants, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics before surgery to help prevent infection.
- Treatment plan. Tailored to your situation, this plan takes into account factors such as how many teeth you need replaced and the condition of your jawbone and remaining teeth.
Dental implant surgery is usually an outpatient surgery performed in stages, with healing time between procedures. The process of placing a dental implant involves multiple steps, including:
- Damaged tooth removal
- Jawbone preparation (grafting), when needed
- Dental implant placement
- Bone growth and healing
- Abutment placement
- Artificial tooth placement
The entire process can take many months from start to finish. Much of that time is devoted to healing and waiting for the growth of new bone in your jaw. Depending on your situation, the specific procedure done or the materials used, certain steps can sometimes be combined.

- We have extremely high success rates with Implants
The success rate of Dental Implants is almost 95% and we have a team of experts in the field to make sure you get your sparkling new teeth in no time.
- Maintain your smile as well as your face. Dental implants can replace your teeth and give you your smile back. But did you know that they also maintain the contours of your face by maintaining the shape of your jaws?
- Protect the bones of your jaw and face. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves and stimulates natural bone, preventing bone loss due to missing natural teeth.
- No more putting your teeth in a cup. Dental implants will let you to keep your teeth where they belong – in your mouth – not in a cup on your nightstand.
- Eat your favorite foods! You can bite naturally, eat almost anything you want and, unlike uncomfortable removable dentures you can once again experience the full taste, texture and temperature of food with dental implants.
- Protect your healthy teeth. Dental implants allow your adjacent teeth to stay healthy. They will also help prevent healthy teeth from shifting around which will keep your bite from changing.
Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. Dental implants are a marvel in tooth replacement technology, using a unique system that anchors a new, natural looking tooth in the open space from your missing tooth. Dental Implants are used as a replacement to natural teeth that have been lost or require removal to help restore the patient’s natural dentition. They are essentially a titanium insert of ‘artificial tooth root’ which sits into the jawbone providing a foundation for crowns, bridges and dentures to be placed much like a natural tooth. Multiple implants can also be used to replace multiple teeth, making dental implants a very versatile tooth-replacement option. Whether you are missing one tooth, several teeth or all your teeth, dental implants are preferred by dentists and patients alike.
People lose teeth all the time, either through trauma (when teeth are knocked out) or due to decay, gum disease or old age. Whatever the reason for losing your teeth, they need to be replaced, both for aesthetic and functional reasons. The most common treatments for missing teeth are either a denture or a fixed bridge. However, dental implants are now seen as the gold standard to replace missing teeth, as they provide a longer-term solution, slow down bone loss and preserve nearby healthy tooth tissue
Benefits Of Dental Implants
- When you lose your natural teeth, your jaw bone and surrounding tissues start to resorb and disappear over time. When implants are placed in the jaw, it stimulates the remaining bone to grow & mesh around the metal, along with tiny blood vessels…
- Implants help restore function so you can eat, chew, and bite as usual.
- Implants are a natural looking way to replace missing teeth.
- Implants can be considered as the “Second Permanent Tooth”

How to care for your Implants?
Simply brushing, flossing, and rinsing regularly will keep both your implant and your natural teeth protected from decay and looking perfect.
- Practice excellent oral hygiene. Just as with your natural teeth, keep implants, artificial teeth and gum tissue clean with specially designed brushes, such as an interdental brush that slides between teeth..
- See your dentist regularly. Schedule dental checkups to ensure the health and proper functioning of your implants and follow the advice for professional cleanings.
- Avoid damaging habits. Don’t chew hard items, such as ice and hard candy, which can break your crowns — or your natural teeth.

Recently my 62 year old ‘milk tooth’ broke off leaving me with the dread of having the root taken out. Manish was amazing, knowing me from previous treatments, he explained that he would build a new tooth on the remains of my old one. The work was done in an hour, the result was amazing, I couldn’t tell the difference from the one next to it. No pain, no stress and truly wonderful just before Christmas to have my smile back. Manish is an amazing person and outstanding dentist. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Dental Concepts to anyone, especially nervous patients or anxious patients.

Phoned in an emergency after extreme pain and my regular dentist not caring that 4 more days was unmanageable, having rang several others that only seemed concerned about booking me in for a check. To my delight and suprise this was no problem for them. Their only concern was that I was in extreme pain and despite anti biotics and pain killers this had not subsided for 72 hours, I was asked to come in immediately for an x ray and immediate extraction. No one like the dentist but I officially love this team now, I will be recommending it to family, friends and all those who read this review.
