At Dental Concepts, we help in teeth whitening through a simple, non-invasive cosmetic dental treatment that helps remove surface stains and lighten the existing colour by several shades. The results of these safe and successful methods vary from patient to patient and with the type of treatment process chosen.

Poladay Whitening System is a neutral pH teeth whitening formulation that helps you achieve your desired whitening effect (approximately less than 30 minutes in a day). It contains fluoride to remineralise your teeth and protect them against tooth sensitivity.

Once you select and begin the treatment, based on your Dentist’s guidance, a whitening product is applied to your tooth/teeth. The product separates water and oxygen ions that enter the enamel and attack the long stain molecules to effectively break them down. These short and colourless molecules are then naturally removed from the tooth.

Please avoid the below mentioned as it may put your dental health at risk and is also considered illegal.

  1. Purchasing over-the-counter whitening products at your local medical store – whitening toothpaste, rinses, whitening strips or any type of Do It Yourself (DIY) at-home treatments.
  2. Teeth whitening at beauty salons by untrained staff or staff without dental qualifications.

The whitening results depend on each individual based on oral care and maintenance efforts followed which include:

  • Cleaning teeth thoroughly including the use of floss or specialist brushes.

  • Not eating, drinking or smoking while wearing the trays.
  • Rinsing the mouth with lukewarm water to remove any remaining gel.
  • Washing the tray with cold water and drying it thoroughly with tissues before storing it.

While your Dental Concepts Dentist will detail the treatment process, please keep the below-mentioned things in mind:

Teeth & Tray Alignment

  1. Use the gel as advised by the Dental Concepts Dentist from the tubes provided in the trays.
  2. Wear the whitening trays for 2 weeks (14 days) at night.
  3. On day 15, please visit the Dental Concepts Dentist for the final 40 min treatment in-office
  4. While the Dentist will help you practice at the Dental Concepts Clinic, at home please ensure that you insert the whitening tray firmly in the mouth over the teeth. Once placed accurately, gently press with your fingers to position the tray correctly. You may hear a “click” sound to confirm the same. Please note that excessive pressure may cause the gel to spread across your gums which you can wipe using a tissue.

Tray Removal Care

  1. Every morning for the next 14 days, remove the tray, rinse your teeth and if need be, use a brush to remove any remaining gel.
  2. Brush, floss, and continue your routine dental hygiene.
  3. Apply desensitizing gel, as advised by your Dental Concepts Dentist if your teeth become too sensitive.
  4. Clean your whitening trays with a brush and cold water. Store the trays in the tray holder and gel in a cool dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. You may refrigerate the gel to prolong the shelf life, but do not freeze.

You May Experience (varies for each patient)

  1. Minor gum and teeth sensitivity because of the trays. Contact your Dental Concepts Dentist for clarifications.
  2. Sometimes, you may notice that your teeth start to look “funny” with white spots or dark gum line. Don’t get worried as this is part of the whitening process. But you may contact your Dental Concepts Dentist for clarifications.
  3. In some cases, the lower teeth do not lighten as quickly as the upper teeth. If there is a noticeable difference between the upper and lower teeth when the whitening is completed, we may recommend wearing the whitening trays for another week only on the lower teeth.

Dental Concepts Suggestions

  1. Do not eat, drink or smoke during treatment especially when you place trays and bleaching gel in your mouth.
  2. Do not smoke immediately on removing trays/bleaching gel. If you have to smoke, it is advisable to wait for at least 2 hours post removal of the trays.
  3. Foods and drinks containing strong colours must be avoided for best results.
  4. Use the gel only at room temperature
